Are GUNS better than GOLD ???
Although it might be temporary........GOLD is suckin' quite hard lately.
Anyone stocking up on GUNS & Ammo instead ??? ......2-weeks ago I sold off a couple of Gold coins near $900 per oz and got a SIG 556 rifle. Glad I did seeing what's going on right now..........maybe it's GUNS are MONEY ??? |

Not that I don't think that's a KILLER idea... but, the BATF may not take too kindly to that...http://goldismoney.info/forums/pictu...&pictureid=220 jus sayin:thumb.aspx: |

If you are expecting an AW ban, then buy a stack of AR stripped lowers for $100 each. Should be a good investment. Who knows... maybe when the time comes to sell them our country will be in complete anarchy and the BATF won't even matter. |
Re: Are GUNS better than GOLD ???
Probably the best investment over the past 3-4 years has been ammo. It has increased in price way more than guns or pm's.

Re: Are GUNS better than GOLD ???
Back in the day, the ATF term for dealer was "engaging in the business."
|
Re: Are GUNS better than GOLD ???
Future unclear.......hard to tell.....both gold and guns subject to outlaw with historical precedent.......
Maybe 10k scrap is a good idea......Ferfal was sayin' something like that..... Not that I learn from other's lessons. I like to figure things out the hard way. |
Re: Are GUNS better than GOLD ???
I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket. Diversify your investments but I would always lean towards guns and bullets more than gold and silver. Regardless if they get banned, that would only make their value go up even higher.

Ammunition was a GREAT investment....especially .308 and .223 surplus. |

I've thought about getting a C&R license just so I could stock up on mil-surp, but this license does not permit you to "engage in the business" (make a living) selling firearms. |
Re: Are GUNS better than GOLD ???
Buy from 'evil gun shows' or privately if at all possible....no paperwork in free states at least.

Re: Are GUNS better than GOLD ???
I can tell you one thing if I was to sell my ammo I bought the last few year
have a bigger return then gold even when gold was $900 :applause_ |

C&R = collector You can sell guns to increase or expand one's collection and there's no mention on a restriction of how many. Anyhow, it's a good hobby for some cash on the side when able.......just be sure to buy a pricey weapon for replacement as an upgrade every once in a while. Also, buying off individuals in one's own state with cash is a good way to go.........draw your own conclusions. |
Re: Are GUNS better than GOLD ???
:553: I don't think I've mentioned this but things are turning strange on the firearm scene...locally,that is.
My local guy at the pawn shop is up to his eyeballs in long guns and pistols. I have never saw his place so full of firearms in the last ten years. Last week he told me he was being slammed with people pawning their guns for gas money and groceries...yeah,like that's a revelation. When the economy turns nasty guns seem to be the first thing people want to pawn, mainly because there is always a demand. All this gun pawning and selling at the start of deer hunting season struck me as a little too bizarre for normal. He says nobody is buying firearms...just pawning...go figure. I see it as a "firearm positive" break in the gun market for buyers. Maybe a nationwide glut of firearms being pawned or sold to raise cash will lower prices down to reasonable levels. I sure hope so,but ammo prices are still rising. Something to keep in mind...this phenomenon might snowball if the economy tanks deeper towards a full blown depression. If that happens...guns will definitely be a wiser investment than gold.:yes::yes: |
Re: Are GUNS better than GOLD ???
I took advantage of the Dicks BOGO50% last week and just ordered some mags, HP ammo, a speed loader, grease, CLP and some misc. 10/22 accessories (extractor and bolt buffer) from MidwayUSA. I'd say my discretionary spending has certainly been towards firearms as of recent.

Re: Are GUNS better than GOLD ???
Just sold a large stack of Ag that really has not gained $hit and repositioned my stack w/ Brass/Lead/Milled Steel Products...Like James Brown said, "I Feel Good"...!!!

Re: Are GUNS better than GOLD ???
I also think a wise investment for an individual, but as far as trading wampum - I'd rather simultaneously handle poisonous vipers and crimp blasting caps with my teeth than broker firearms - especially in desperate times.
Payday for me in ten days - and counting. I guess I'm johnny-come-lately, but I plan on purchasing one case of centerfire rifle ammunition, optics for one rifle that doesn't have open sights and maybe three slings-and a partridge in a pear tree!!!:9536: Take care, Mod1 |
Re: Are GUNS better than GOLD ???
Even Obummer's ascendancy hasn't raised the prices of items like "assault" weapons and hi-caps -- so I don't know what will. Gun prices have fallen over the last 10 years, accounting for inflation -- e.g., a Glock 19 costs me the same now as it did in 1998. The only exceptions seem to be NFA items, collectibles, and the occasional discontinued or "soon to be banned" item. Ammo prices have risen simply because the costs of the underlying components have shot up.

I'm still sitting on guns I bought when the original AWB was passed.
Probably don't need any more. |
Re: Are GUNS better than GOLD ???

I ordered like three times last week and the last order was so big someone has to sign for it. (you can imagine). T |
